Impact of Groundnut Seed Subsidy on Farm Efficiency in Ananthapuramu District of Andhra Pradesh, India

Governments used seed subsidy as an incentive to encourage crop diversification and use of high yielding varieties. In present study, attempt has been made study farm efficiency groundnut in Ananthapuramu district Andhra Pradesh. For this purpose, two mandals (Kanaganapalli, Gudibanda) were selected based on highest number benefited farmers. The data pertains for the year 2021 kharif season 64 beneficiary 136 non-beneficiary was collected from each respondent through personal interviews with help structured schedules. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) employed analyze technical scale better comparison, all farmers divided into categories viz. subsidized non-subsidized propensity score matching is also used. empirical results observed that overall mean Variable Returns Scale (VRS) 0.760, Constant (CRS) 0.70. positive impact visible, VRS 0.916 which greater than farmer’s i.e. 0.716. variation because input costs incurred regression indicates influence (VRS), extent up 20% increase efficiency. Yet it noticed still rely sources their requirement, they could not meet conditions availing Pradesh state government.
